This might seem like an odd title, but the loss of Eunice Kennedy Shriver got me to thinking about Ms. Kennedy’s Shriver’s life and all the activism she was involved in to help others throughout her life. There are many other unsung elderly heroes just like her and my heart’s prayer is that they are getting back in the way of
elderly home care what they’ve given to others over the years, heartfelt service and hours of commitment. I was not surprised to see that many of the stories I found feature elderly folks that remain strong and independent. Others are not quite, so but there lives continue to be full thanks to loving families that are helping to care for them.
Here are some of the stories I discovered:

Protesters sitting at the Site 41 construction zone can’t understand why an elderly couple has caught the attention of police.
Granny D Haddock
If you don’t know who Granny D Haddock is, you will want to visit her site and read all about the wonderful work she has done in her later years!
For those who like me, think our society needs to take another look at how we treat the elderly, visit changingaging.org and get a glimpse of Dr. Bill Thomas and his vision that is changing many nursing homes around the country.
